Cheam Town Football Club

Was founded in 1997 by Charlie Turnbull; his vision was to build a club that would develop local boys into a competitive and successful team. After scouting schools, parks & local junior leagues he soon had nine talented players. The team instantly attracted interest from professional scouts & in their first season Charlie Turnbull Jnr. Was offered a two year contract with West Ham Utd. His Father understandably left Cheam Town to concentrate on his son's blossoming career; the direction of the club now fell into the hands of Paul Braben & Mick Dennis, who were strongly supported by the parents of the squad members. Paul & Mick steered the team on a road to success that is quite remarkable & which justifiably earned Cheam Town FC a reputation as of one of the most successful junior teams in the South of England. [Honours to date 7 League Championships, 6 League Cup Winners, 2 County Cup Winners & 1 Inter-league Championship] Over the seasons the squad has been tweaked here & there in order to maintain the high standard of achievement, however the bulk of the players are still from the original team! Their success & ability as individuals has meant that professional scouts have been ever present & this has lead to a host of the players being offered places on academies with professional clubs.

The 2003/04 season saw the formation of a new team playing at U-12 s. This squad was under the management of Andy Maciel & Lee Summers. For season 2004/05 an additional U-13s squad was added, which was initially managed solely by Rob Pearce & once the season was under way Rob was joined by Vince Kingman.

With so many of the original [1997] squad at the point where they will soon be looking at some form of contract football, with either Professional or Non-League clubs, it has meant an end of an era! This squad left Cheam Town FC at the end of season 2004/05, we sincerely wish them every success and will endeavour to follow and maintain their ethic, to play simple entertaining football and hopefully to enjoy successes as they did.

Our goal; for all our members to enjoy "The Beautiful Game"!

Cheam Town FC

The squad was formed in the summer of 2003 in readiness for the 03/04 season & was managed & coached by Andy Maciel & Lee Summers. The team finished the 2003/04 season as League Champions [Div. 1 WSYL] & League Cup Semi-Finalists. The team gained promotion to the Premier North Division of the WSYL & narrowly missed promotion at the end of season 2004/05 & were once again League Cup Semi-Finalists, they also reached the quarter finals of the Surrey County Cup.

Considering that the team has only been together for two seasons they have done very well. The future looks promising. Due to Family & work commitments, Lee's role has been handed over to Ralph Watson.

Cheam Town Youth

The squad was formed in the summer of 2004 in readiness for the 04/05 season & was managed & coached by Rob Pearce & Vince Kingman. Following the promotion of Cheam Town FC & the consequent need to strengthen in certain positions, trials were held & it was decided that a second squad would be formed. After a shaky start the squad began to knit together & finished the season with a flourish. Rob & Vince are confident of challenging for the title in 05/06, thus gaining promotion & breathing the down the necks of Cheam Town FC!
