Full Time score 1 -1 In the first 20mins of the first half, Cheam Town looked Nervous and a bit shaky. We were looking to kick the ball up in the air which seemed pointless as the opposition were so big. But we survived that first 20mins, then we started to get the ball down on the floor and play and our confidence started to grow. But Sheen Lions did pose a threat from set pieces and we looked like we never knew what was going on by the way we were slow in reacting to pick them up. Sheen Lions finally broke through and scored after a corner was only half cleared. Personally I feel that when they did score, it was against the run of play. The goal sparked us into life and we started playing better we were also creating more chances for us to equalise. The pressure finally paid off when some good work by Connor put Luke through to score. After some words by our manager Ralph Watson and assistant manager Dave Owens at half time we began the second half as we ended the first, by again creating chances but unfortunately none of them was going in. As the half went on the game could have gone either way, with both teams were creating good chances. But in the end it wasn’t to be their goalkeeper was small and looked fragile but he made some good saves to deny us the win. All in all, the players performed great and showed brilliant fighting spirit, which we can hopefully carry it into our next game. Match report written by : Chris Richards (Team Capt) |
